Yountville, California

If you blink while driving north on Highway 29 you’ll miss it. Yountville (just north of Napa) is a tiny but quaint town and home to the world renowned restaurants, The French Laundry and Bouchon Bistro. My sister and I went there on a photo research excursion and explored the spectacular countryside on bikes. The first signs of fall were evident in the turning leaves, the ripe bunches of grapes, the damp soil, and the crisp air after the first autumn rain. Thanks big sis for a fabulous weekend get-away!

The French Laundry’s garden where the restaurant grow numerous varieties of herbs, vegetables and fruits. Oh, and they have the most amazing chicken coup I’ve ever seen, which is as large as my living room.

Local Favorite | Vesta Flat Bread Launch Party

Presenting to you once again, one of my favorite businesses, Vesta Flat Bread, at their official launch party, which was a spectacular evening in the Port of Oakland. Hosted at the Linden Street Brewery, Vesta Flat Bread owners Jenya, Traci, and Aaron threw an extraordinary party to officially inaugurate their business and also their new hot wheels, Ceres, a mobile food truck. There was a generous spread of beautiful veggie platters, yummy flat bread sandwiches, and cold delicious beer. The fans who attended the event created a chill and celebratory atmosphere. With its spectacular food, unique business philosophy, and hip demeanor there is no doubt that you should give Vesta’s “smokin hot street food” a try. Remember, you can find them at the Grand Lake Farmer’s Market on Saturdays or in the East Bay during the week in their mobile food truck.
